  • Ensure proper ventilation in confined spaces to prevent toxic material accumulation [4].
  • Remove paint from surfaces to be welded to avoid generating poisonous gases [5].

Fire Prevention

  • Remove all flammable materials from the welding area or protect them with flameproof covers [6].
  • Have a fully charged fire extinguisher available at all times [5].
  • Ensure a fire watch is available when required [7].

Procedural Checks

  • Turn off the engine and remove the key before starting welding [8].
  • Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery terminal [8].
  • Attach the welder ground cable within 1 meter from the weld area [5].
