III. Work Area Assessment

  • Clearance:
    • Adequate clearance from obstacles, power lines, and other hazards.
    • Ground conditions are stable and level.
  • Load Capacity:
    • Load does not exceed the boom lift's rated capacity.
    • Load is evenly distributed on the platform.
  • Environmental Conditions:
    • Weather conditions (wind, rain, etc.) are suitable for safe operation.

IV. Operational Safety

  • Safe Operating Procedures:
    • Follow all manufacturer's instructions and safety guidelines.
    • Maintain a safe distance from hazards.
    • Never exceed the boom lift's maximum reach or load capacity.
  • Fall Protection:
    • Always wear a full-body harness and lanyard secured to the designated anchor point.
    • Inspect fall protection equipment before each use.
  • Communication:
    • Establish clear communication signals with ground personnel.

V. Post-Operation

  • Park the boom lift on a level surface.
  • Lower the boom completely.
  • Turn off the engine and remove the key.
  • Inspect the boom lift for any damage that may have occurred during operation.
  • Report any issues or concerns to the supervisor.
