Purpose

To ensure heavy equipment is safe to operate, compliant with safety regulations, and free from hazards before use.

Begin the Walk-Around Inspection at Item 1, as noted on the diagram. Continue checking each item in sequence for the conditions listed in the following checklist. [2]

This checklist should be completed: Daily

Test all controls and safety devices. Check: Controls operate smoothly and respond as expected. Safety devices (e.g., backup alarms, emergency stops) are functional.			_________________
Inspect the platform assembly and gate. [3] Check: Footswitch works properly, not modified, disabled, or blocked. Gate latches and hinges are in working condition.			_________________
Check that the lanyard attach points are in good condition. [1] Check: Lanyard attach points are not damaged. Only one lanyard is attached per lanyard anchorage point.			_________________

Perform a thorough walk-around inspection of the equipment, paying close attention to the following items:
