II. During Operation

  • 1. Technique: Use the correct grinding wheel for the material being ground.
  • 2. Technique: Apply consistent, moderate pressure. Avoid excessive force.
  • 3. Technique: Keep the workpiece moving to prevent overheating.
  • 4. Environment: Ensure adequate ventilation to avoid inhalation of dust or vapours 2, 3, 9, 10, 11.
  • 5. Housekeeping: Clean the surrounding area to prevent dust accumulation [2].

III. Post-Operation

  • 1. Equipment: Turn off and disconnect the grinder.
  • 2. Equipment: Allow the grinding wheel to come to a complete stop before leaving the area.
  • 3. Housekeeping: Clean the grinder and work area.
  • 4. Storage: Store the grinder in a safe and dry location.

IV. Emergency Procedures

  • 1. First Aid: Know the location of the first aid kit and eyewash station [1].
  • 2. Emergency Contacts: Emergency contact information is readily available.
