Personal Protective Equipment

• Hard Hat: Provides impact protection to the head. Must meet CSA Standard Z94.1-15 or equivalent. Ensure proper fit and use of chin straps in high wind conditions. [3] [3]
• Safety Glasses/Goggles: Protects eyes from impact, dust, chemical splashes, and radiation. Must meet CSA Standard Z94.3-15 or equivalent. Consider the need for a face shield in addition to safety goggles where there is a risk of splashes or high-velocity particles. [3]
• Gloves: Protects hands from cuts, abrasions, chemical exposure, and temperature extremes. Select gloves appropriate for the specific hazards involved (e.g., chemical-resistant gloves for handling chemicals, insulated gloves for electrical work). [2]
• Safety Footwear: Protects feet from impact, compression, punctures, and chemical exposure. Must meet CSA Standard Z195-14 or equivalent.
