• Hand protection: Gloves appropriate for the task, such as heavy-duty rubber gloves for concrete work, welding gloves for welding, or insulated gloves and sleeves for electrical hazards, are necessary. Check the SDS for proper glove type when handling chemicals or corrosives.
• Foot protection: Wear work shoes or boots with slip-resistant and puncture-resistant soles. Safety-toed footwear prevents crushed toes when working around heavy equipment or falling objects.
• High-visibility garments: When working near moving vehicles, wear a high-visibility safety vest, shirt, or jacket that is fluorescent yellow-green, fluorescent orange-red, or fluorescent red. During hours of darkness, ensure the garment meets ANSI/ISEA 107-1999 Class 2 specifications and provides 360 degrees of visibility.
