1. Hazard Assessment

2. PPE Selection and Provision

• Ensure PPE is provided at no cost to employees .

3. PPE Usage

• Ensure employees are trained on when and how to use PPE .
• Confirm that employees wear PPE correctly and consistently .
• Ensure PPE does not create additional hazards (e.g., heat stress, impaired vision) .

4. PPE Maintenance and Inspection

• Inspect PPE for damage before each use .
• Maintain PPE in a sanitary and reliable condition .
• Remove defective or damaged PPE from service immediately .

5. Training and Communication

• Provide training on the limitations and proper care of PPE .
• Communicate PPE selection decisions to all affected employees .
• Retrain employees if there are changes in PPE or inadequacies in PPE use .

6. Record Keeping

• Keep records of hazard assessments, PPE training, and inspections for at least 5 years .

7. Corrective Actions

• Document any non-compliance issues and corrective actions taken.
